exploring color with food

I started out this experience with taking personal objects that I use on a daily basis and matching color chips to them. After exploring different things, I narrowed it down food that I eat. I'm going to document a week of food I consume and see where it goes from there. Being Italian, I can see a lot of RED already.

Eight Texts

The assignment objective was to experiment with eight sets of texts exploring type variabes, space and form variables, and sequential studies. This book starts out with simple type setting, and gradually moves to more complex ways of setting type. I chose to use Baskerville & Mrs. Eaves. Mrs. Eaves is a transitional serif typeface based off of Baskerville. As you progress through my book, the typefaces change from Baskerville, Combinations of the two, then end in Mrs. Eaves.
Time-Life Re-Design

My timelife book was on Food & Nutrition. I chose to focus more on people and statistics around the world, rather than what is so called ‘good’ for you to eat. My photography choices really emphasize the lack of nutrition in Third World Countries and other countries around the world. All of the imagery in my book is work shot by Sebastiao Salgado, a Brazilian documentary photographer and photojournalist.. He is one of my favorite photographers.
Breast Cancer Campaign

This is a project done in Visual Persuasion class. We were assigned to create a campaign for a cause. From my family experiences with this illness, I felt it would be a great way of showing my appreciation and passion for breast cancer. I wanted to incorporate the notorious pink ribbon in a different way by wrapping a pink scarf to make a similar ribbon shape. My slogan "warm your heart with hope" fit best with my concept. When dealing with breast cancer (or any time of cancer) you have to have hope, ambition, belief, and strength to get you through it. People at such young ages have been diagnoised with this type of cancer. I wanted to spread the message of "Breast Cancer Awareness" to a younger crowd to push the importance of getting yearly check ups and to just be aware.
